California Super Market in Koreatown fits the bill. I had Oriental Stir-Fried Noodles, filled with veg and sold packaged near the entrance of the store. Perfect for takeaway. I've also tried Boochoo (maybe that's scallion?) Pancake and Fish Cake Sushi. Also yummy, these two are found pre-packaged near the right side of the store, towards the back. The most expensive item was a little over $3. What a value.
And if it's a weekend, there will most likely be a guy selling hot pastries stuffed with red bean paste outside the entrance. I can vouch for them also.
